| We made it home just as it was getting dark. When we got into the car it was just after 7pm (Montana time). We had been tromping around the woods for 9 hours. No complaints from the kids... we stopped at the Lochsa Lodge for dinner... and did not clean our kitchen. Here is our loot: 8 lbs of morels! |
Oh, wow! I found several morels yesterday...but I'm not really sure that's what they are. Rather than the gray/brainy coloring, these ones have stems the color of mac & cheese, with a rich brown cap. Ring any bells?
ReplyDeletethe best way to tell if you have a morel is to cut it in half lengthwise. A morel is hollow all the way from the stem and top like a straw.
